The Hoveringham Wildlife Conservation Group was formed on 13 July 2006. 

Aims and objectives
of the Hoveringham Wildflife Conservation Group

To record all specimens in Hoveringham and surroundings
To record types of habitat
To improve and enhance
Contact landowners, farmers, sailing club, cricket club
To manage and maintain new and existing habitats
Provide a focus of interest for the children of the village

FIRST PROJECT

Restoring and preparing a field (known as Kelly’s Field) for all types of wildlife.
The field is on the right of Main Street, just past Brookfield Drive, going towards Thurgarton.

WORK DONE

Saturday 30 September
Replacing of the fencing alongside the field. 
Areas were cleared around young trees already planted by Norman Potter and an area for hibernating wildlife prepared.

Saturday 7 October
Small hawthorn bushes were planted inside the restored fence.

Saturday 14 October
An area inside the hedge alongside the road was cleared in order to access and look after the hedge. 
Some of the prunings were burned and some were left in piles for hibernating wildlife.

BIRD WALK

There will be a Birdwatching walk led by an expert on
Saturday 4 November at 9.30 am.  Meet at the old Tarmac Offices by the lakes.
