AS villagers. YOU CAN HELP IN 3 WAYS:
• We need players of all standards and ages. Talk to any of the village players, or contact below.
• We need introductions to potential sponsors
• We will need donors and members of the club will be in touch later.
In the meantime, if you would like to help in any way or have further ideas, experience in fund raising, or would like to play cricket.......please contact;
Your Hoveringham Magazine team has kindly consented to include our information brochure with this edition of the newsletter. The purpose is to let all villagers know of our plans
and hopes for the future.
The Club has ambitious plans. It would like to introduce a Youth Team, team training and even enter a second team in the Notts.Cricket League where its current team has been enjoying regular success; Promotion in the past 3 seasons, as Champions in 2 of these and in the running for promotion this season.
To meet these objectives, the club needs to increase its playing membership. Whilst the wicket and village setting of the ground are positive attractions, the biggest obstacle is the old pavilion and poor changing facilities.
Last year the club was gifted a piece of land adjacent to the existing land (in the narrow strip of land to the right hand side as viewed from The Reindeer) by lan Rothera. a former resident and HCC supporter. The Club now needs to raise the funds for a new building with improved facilities.
The Reindeer Inn, The Marquis and Ferry Form are all helping us to raise funds. Our next target will be local businesses and partnerships that can help us whilst enjoying many of the
features and activities we can offer.
Finally we shall be asking everyone to donate to this cause.
